If you are looking for the absolute best combination of R-value and eliminating air penetration, consider a blow-pack and closed-cell foam. We apply 2" of spray foam insulation and then fill the remaining wall cavity space with Owens Corning blown in insulation. It's incredibly energy efficient and will offer the best possible results.
